WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - CALIFORNIA forward Stefano Bonomo was voted the Pac-12 men’s soccer Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 8-14, the Conference office announced today.

Bonomo, a native of Hillsborough, Calif., kept No. 1 California undefeated when he scored a 91st-minute golden goal to beat No. 5/6 UCLA, 3-2, in overtime in Los Angeles. The Golden Bears came back from a 2-1 deficit to tie the game in regulation before Bonomo scored his fifth goal of the season on a cross from teammate Connor Hallisey. The junior forward also helped California come from behind on Thursday against San Diego State to win, 2-1.

The honor is Bonomo’s first-career weekly accolade, and it is the second honor for a Golden Bear this season as teammate Steven Birnbaum earned the first weekly honor of the season on Sept. 3. It also marks the 28th overall player of the week selection for California.

The No. 1 Golden Bears return home from their road trip to host Stanford on October 20 in a match that will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks.

Pac-12 Networks will feature the Bears five more times this season, including next week’s game. Pac-12 men’s soccer will have 28 matches overall air on the Pac-12 Networks. For the full television schedule, visit www.pac-12.com
