Roundup: Career night for UCLA's Tony Parker

It was close early on, but the Bruins pulled away at the end of the first half and never looked back last night against the Card. Steve Alford can thank Tony Parker for his inspired performance that propelled UCLA to a rout of Stanford. Dude scored 22 off the bench in the 91-74 win. Business as usual for the top-ranked 'Cats. Selfless play and tough defense resulted in another win for No.1 Arizona last night as it beat Colorado 69-57 in a game that wasn’t as close as the score indicates.

Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports writes that USC is one of the schools hurt most by a rush of underclassmen declaring for the NFL Draft, along with LSU, Alabama and Notre Dame. There are 98 underclassmen in all declaring, beating the previous high by 25 (last year).

Kudos to Klay Thompson for being picked to be a part of the USA Basketball national roster pool. The former Coug is one of 28 potential players for the World Cup of Basketball in Spain this summer and the 2016 Olympics. Other former Pac-12ers include James Harden, Andre Iguodala, Kevin Love and Russell Westbrook.
