Arizona State

We got some more spring football for ya on Saturday, and the fun begins in Tempe. It’s always good to have a little fun with these things, and there is a new twist in this year’s Arizona State spring game: The winning team gets steak, the losing team gets tuna. It starts at 11 a.m. PT and is, of course, televised on the Pac-12 Arizona.

Utah

Utah’s spring game is at noon PT Saturday (Pac-12 Mountain), but since Utah gymnastics is competing in the NCAA championships, we will tell you that Utah gymnast and Pac-12 all-around champ Tory Wilson and others have a shot at individual titles. Stanford and UCLA are also in the mix at the NCAAs.

Washington

U-Dub is up next at 1 p.m. (Pac-12 Washington), and Deontae Cooper feels good after a long history of battling injuries.

USC

USC has the last spring game of this Saturday's slate at 3 p.m., and Kevin Gemmell writes that Steve Sarkisian is embracing expectations, which is a good thing because expectations are always high in Troy.

UCLA

Although Kyle Anderson and Zach LaVine have declared for the NBA Draft, Jordan Adams is returning for his junior season. Big, big news for the Bru Cru.

Stanford

Over on The Farm, longtime Stanford diving coach Rick Schavone is retiring after 36 years, and that’s the press release courtesy of Stanford Athletics.

Colorado

At 8-6 overall and 5-2 in MPSF play, it has been a very successful inaugural campaign for Colorado women’s lacrosse. This weekend, CU lacrosse concludes its home season against Old Dominion and Cal Friday and Sunday, respectively.

Oregon

Oregon has the No. 1 softball team in the land, and the bats stayed hot in its first game at Howe Field as No. 1, run-ruling Cal 9-1. The Ducks are a monstrous 38-5 overall and 12-1 in Pac-12 play so far.

Oregon State

While Oregon State pitcher Andrew Moore isn’t worried about matching his superb freshman season when he was named the Pac-12 Frosh of the Year, he’s still 3-2 with a 2.82 ERA so far in 2014.

Washington State

For an update in Pullman on spring football, the Wazzu offensive line features battling centers, as Riley Sorenson and Sam Flor are dueling to replace Elliott Bosch.

California

Bryce Treggs returned to full practice for Cal after being limited earlier in the spring due to injury.

Arizona

If you ask Greg Hansen, he’ll tell you that Arizona would be smart to play up "Bear Down" and put the school motto on uniforms and such.
