Stanford

There were a ton of titles won in conference tournaments and championships over the weekend, and a lot of ‘em were claimed by the Card. Stanford won the men’s golf title, it took the women’s golf championship on the final day and the women’s water polo team won the MPSF tournament.

USC

In women’s tennis action, USC’s Kaitlyn Christian and Giuliana Olmos won the Pac-12 doubles championship, while Zoë Scandalis lost in the singles title bout to UCLA’s Jennifer Brady.

UCLA

Although he initially said he would stay at UCLA, Jordan Adams chose to enter the NBA draft just ahead of the April 27 deadline. Also, UCLA upset USC to claim the Pac-12 men’s tennis title.

Washington State

Oh hell yeah – Snoop Dogg took a photo with some Washington State players over the weekend. And, now that spring football is wrapped up in the Palouse, Washington State head coach Mike Leach will go on a summer tour for his new book “Geronimo.” As our Steve Langsam points out, the book is coming out May 6.

California

Congratulations are in order for Cal’s Brandon Hagy, as he was named Pac-12 Men’s Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year. That’s what a 3.72 GPA and top-five worldwide amateur ranking will do for ya.

Arizona

It wasn’t a good weekend for Arizona baseball to begin with, losing its first two games against rival Arizona State, but at least the Wildcats salvaged a win against the Sun Devils Sunday, beating the Forks 6-1 and allowing just two hits to Arizona State batters.

Oregon State

‘Twas quite the weekend to be a Beaver, as Oregon State baseball swept its series with Oregon, a series in which the Beavers experienced a “different world.” It was just earlier in the week that Oregon State lost to Sacramento State.

Oregon

‘Twasn’t quite the weekend to be an Oregon baseball supporter, for reasons listed above. The main issue against Oregon State was that Oregon’s bats flatlined, according to Tyson Alger of The Oregonian.

Washington

The great season for Washington baseball continued as the Huskies took two from rival Washington State on Sunday to get the doubleheader sweep; Cougars won the first game of the series on Friday.

Arizona State

Pat’s Run attracted more than 28,000 people Saturday, and Paola Boivin writes that Marie Tillman is honoring her late husband’s legacy through the Pat Tillman Foundation.

Utah

In the never-ending world of college basketball roster shifting, the Salt Lake Tribune informs us that Princeton Onwas will not return to Utah. He played one season for the Utes, averaging 4.8 points per game in about 18 minutes each time out.

Colorado

If you ask Kyle Ringo, he’d tell you that Colorado made the right move by hiring Rick George as athletic director. Dude knows how to raise money, yo.
