John Ross returns kickoff for 96-yard touchdown in Cactus Bowl

Washington’s John Ross may have moved from receiver to cornerback, but he still found a way to help out the Husky offense Friday in the 2015 TicketCity Cactus Bowl in Tempe, Arizona. Ross scored Washington’s second touchdown of the game on a 96-yard kickoff return in the third quarter where he burst through a tight pack of Oklahoma State defenders and blazed the rest of the way to the end zone to cut the Cowboy lead to 27-14.

Ross has been primarily utilized as a cornerback for the Huskies down the stretch of the season, but he assembled an impressive highlight reel of offensive fireworks early in the season as a receiver with his speed and elusiveness. That same speed and elusiveness that he has used to make Friday’s kick return score the third of his career.
