Roundup: Oregon State basketball dominates the weekend
Oregon State basketball is en vogue right now. Both the men’s and women’s teams completed weekend sweeps (including the women’s team knocking off previously-undefeated-in-conference Arizona State to claim the No. 1 spot in the Pac-12 all to itself), and Jamie Weisner was named espnW national player of the week after dropping in 21 and five boards in a 68-57 win over the Sun Devils on Sunday (she's also the Pac-12 Player of the Week). And while we're at it, Gary Payton II was named Pac-12 Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

The Wildcats got the difficult road sweep of the Bay schools this past weekend, and Dusan Ristic has taken “baby steps” of improvement, specifically on the defensive end, thus allowing him more time on the court (Bruce Pascoe with the story).
After losing to Arizona Thursday night, Stanford bounced back with an 89-70 win over Arizona State thanks to 20-point performances from Chasson Randle (21), Anthony Brown (21) and Stefan Nastic (20).
On the other side of that game, Doug Haller points out Arizona State’s defensive struggles, as the Cardinal shot 70 percent from the floor in the first half and 59 percent overall.
The four-game skid is over for the Buffs after thumping Washington State at home, and Brian Howell tells us that Tre’Shaun Fletcher is “stepping up his game”, averaging 9.7 points over his last three games.
Jack Wang examines UCLA men’s basketball’s 0-2 trip to the Oregon schools. Not having Tony Parker available certainly didn’t help.
