Roundup: Todd Stansbury named new OSU AD
This morning, Oregon State named Todd Stansbury its new director of intecollegetiate athletics. Stansbury is no stranger to Corvallis, having worked as the Beavers’ executive associate athletic director for nine years before heading to Central Florida in 2012.
It’s one of the biggest weekends of the year for golf, and Tiger Woods talked about the changes he has made to his game as he prepares for the 115th U.S. Open (Thursday-Sunday). He has won the major three times but is coming off his worst 72-hole score.
Meanwhile, former Sun Devil Phil Mickelson says he is in the best shape of his life despite a recent slump on the links. Mickelson turned 45 years old Tuesday, so happy belated, Lefty. A U.S. Open win would give Mickelson a career grand slam.
Switching gears to more recent Pac-12ers, Washington golf coach Matt Thurmond will be Cheng-Tsung Pan’s caddie at the U.S. Open. This is Pan’s first tourney as a pro after an exceptional career at U-Dub. Nice story here from Paul Ramsdell of The Seattle Times.

Yes! Yes! Yes! UCLA football announced a home-and-home series with Georgia for 2025 (Rose Bowl) and 2026 (Athens). The same release also reveals a home-and-home with Cincinnati for 2018 (Rose Bowl) and 2019 (Cincy). Gotta love how the Bruins never schedule FCS schools.
