Roundup: USC great Frank Gifford dies at 84

Former USC Trojan and New York Giant Frank Gifford died Sunday at the age of 84. He was a prominent figure in the broadcasting world for his work on “Monday Night Football” for more than 25 years and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977.

Utah

The Deseret News reports that University of Utah is allowing Dominique Hatfield to return to school, but the Utah cornerback is not back on the football team for now.

Oregon

Oregon coach Mark Helfrich revealed Monday morning during the Ducks' media day in Eugene that the team will be without running back Thomas Tyner during fall camp. His status after that is unclear.

Colorado

Ugh – Colorado defensive lineman Tyler Henington is out for the season after breaking his leg by falling into a hole walking down the sidewalk. Talk about bad luck.

Oregon State

Gina Mizell writes that Oregon State offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo returned to the practice field Saturday for the beginning of fall camp after missing the 2014 season with a broken foot.

UCLA

Jack Wang notes that the quarterback position is a question mark for UCLA as it opens fall camp Monday in San Bernardino. Josh Rosen is expected to be named the starting QB, but how will the true frosh handle the rigors of college football?

Washington

Christian Caple of the Tacoma News Tribune lets us know that Washington linebacker Travis Feeney is getting his shot to replace Hau’oli Kikaha at “BUCK” linebacker.
