Oregon

Tyson Alger of The Oregonian/OregonLive pens this piece on Oregon football preparing for Kevin Hogan’s running capabilities. He’s been running since he was a redshirt frosh; not sure why people haven’t picked up on that…

Stanford

Check out this Ivan Maisel feature on Heisman hopeful and Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey. Long read but a good one about this lunch-pail guy. #HardHat #RoadGrader

USC

USC wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster is expected to play against Colorado, reports Dan Greenspan of the Associated Press. He had eight grabs for 138 yards against Arizona last weekend despite playing with a broken right hand.

Utah

Kareem Copeland of the Associated Press tells us that Utah men’s basketball is looking to pick up the pace this season. The 16th-ranked Utes were 301st last season with 63 possessions per game (11th in the Pac-12; gotta love the pace stat).

Arizona State

Arizona State women’s basketball signed the No. 9 recruiting class in the nation Wednesday, inking three players ranked in the HoopGurlz national top 100. Oregon, Stanford and USC also hauled in top-10 recruiting classes.

Washington

Our very own Alex Espinoza (Fear the Fork) has this write-up on Washington men’s basketball hooping it up with Special Olympics in Shanghai.

California

The San Francisco Chronicle’s Connor Letourneau reports that Cal basketball forward Roman Davis will redshirt this season. Head coach Cuonzo Martin made the announcement Wednesday.

Oregon State

Oooh… Oregon State offensive coordinator Dave Baldwin has “a surprise” in the backfield for the Beavers’ upcoming game against Cal. Might we see true freshman receiver Paul Lucas head to RB (he played RB in high school)? That’s what Danny Moran of The Oregonian/OregonLive thinks, at least. Either way, I love surprises.

Washington State

David Lombardi says that Washington State defensive coordinator Alex Grinch is happy about the development of the defense in Pullman but knows there’s still plenty of work to do.

Colorado

Brian Howell features Colorado safety Jered Bell, a sixth-year senior who is playing in his final home game Friday night against USC. He’ll get the start with Ryan Moeller likely to miss the game due to injuries suffered in a moped accident.

UCLA

Chris Foster of the Los Angeles Times features UCLA wide receiver Thomas Duarte. He’s a sure-handed fellow, that’s for sure.

Arizona

Occasional Pac-12.com contributor and Pac Hoops curator Adam Butler writes a really good memorial piece on Michael Wright, the former Arizona basketball player who was recently found dead.
