Roundup: Mike Neighbors gets contract extension at UW

Washington women’s basketball coach Mike Neighbors signed a contract extension that will keep him at the university through the 2022-23 season, Washington announced Friday.

Oregon

With a 5-1 win over Utah Thursday, Oregon softball clinched its fourth straight Pac-12 title. The Ducks are just the second team in conference history to win four consecutive league crowns, following the Bruins from 1988-91.

Stanford

Stanford lacrosse plays its NCAA Tournament first-round game Friday against James Madison, with the winner moving on to face the undefeated Trojans.

USC

USC women’s water polo begins its NCAA Tournament run Friday against San Diego State. The Trojans, undefeated and top-seeded, are looking for their fifth national title in women’s water polo. Stanford, UCLA and Arizona State are also vying for the title.

Cal announced its 2016 Hall of Fame class earlier in the week. The eight-member class features famed rugby coach Jack Clark, who has led the Bears to 26 national titles since 1984.
