Roundup: USC football is an all-time AP Top-5 team

Aug 3, 2016

USC

USC football is No. 5 on the AP all-time top 25. The AP has compiled an all-time Top 100 using a formula that counts poll appearances, No. 1 rankings and AP championships. UCLA also cracks the top 20.

Arizona

Former Arizona Wildcat hooper Kyle Fogg was named The Basketball Tournament MVP for leading his team, Overseas Elite, to a second consecutive TBT title. Fogg averaged 21.8 points in six TBT games this year and will play in Spain’s top league (the ACB) next season (largely considered the second best league in the world).

Colorado

On the other hand, Team Colorado blew a 20-point first half lead in its 77-72 loss to Overseas Elite in the TBT final. Still a heck of a run for the former Buffs – Overseas Elite is now 13-0 in TBT play over two years and had a significantly more talented roster.

Stanford

The defending champion Stanford men’s soccer team is No. 1 in the NSCAA preseason poll, it was announced Tuesday.

Arizona State

Arizona State football arrived at Camp Tontozona Tuesday afternoon and began fall camp Wednesday morning (The Arizona Republic).

California

Jon Rothstein believes that Ivan Rabb might be the national player of the year in 2016-17. That is but one of his bullet points in his Pac-12 offseason storylines article.

Oregon State

Oregon

Boise State, ‘Bama and Valparaiso are the headliners of the November-December home slate, while the Ducks head to Maui (Georgetown is for sure, can also play Tennessee, Wisconsin, UNC or UConn) and face UNLV in Portland.

UCLA

Chris Low of ESPN features UCLA offensive tackle Conor McDermott, who was a 235-pound tight end in high school and showed up to UCLA at that weight, or maybe even lighter, according to Jim Mora. Interesting journey for McDermott.

Washington State

Utah

Kevin Gemmell produces three questions for Utah Utes fall camp, chief among them being who will win the starting QB job.

Washington
