Stanford

A big day for Stanford women’s basketball and the Ogwumike’s – Nneka Ogwumike was named Associated Press WNBA Player of the Year, while sister Chiney Ogwumike was named the AP’s Comeback Player of the Year.

UCLA

Kevin Love made a record donation to UCLA’s Mo Ostin Basketball Center project, matching the largest donation made by a former Bruin hooper, which just so happens to be his former teammate, Russell Westbrook. Love will be honored at the UCLA-Stanford football game during the first quarter break.

USC

Former USC quarterback Cody Kessler will start at QB for the Cleveland Browns this weekend against Miami. Going back to last season, Cover32.com (and linked here by Yahoo Sports) points out that Kessler will be the fifth QB to start for the Browns over the last five games.

Colorado

Status for Sefo Liufau still uncertain, Colorado is prepping Steven Montez to start at quarterback. Montez was 0-for-7 passing against Michigan in replacing Liufau.

Washington

How much will Washington safety Budda Baker continue to play on offense? That’s the question Christian Caple tackles in this link, as Baker was a star running back in high school and played receiver against Portland State.

Washington State

Shawn Vestal of The Spokesman-Review believes that the Washington State administration (president, AD, coach) is not shouldering enough responsibility for the arrests of multiple football players.

Oregon

It clearly didn’t work out well Saturday in Lincoln, but Oregon is going to keep going for two after touchdowns, writes Chantel Jennings. It’s the Ducks’ “attack mode,” yo.

Arizona

Arizona is asking wide receiver Tyrell Johnson to convert to running back, as the Wildcats are thin at that position, notes Michael Lev.

Arizona State

Doug Haller documents the history Cal quarterback Davis Webb has with Arizona State as the Golden Bears and Sun Devils ready for their conference opener. As a freshman at Texas Tech, Webb threw for 403 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Red Raiders to a 37-23 win over Arizona State in the 2013 Holiday Bowl.

Oregon State

Good story by Adam Rittenberg on the perseverance of the Oregon State offensive line unit, as those guys have had to overcome all sorts of injuries and illnesses.

Utah

Czech out this feature story on Utah wide receiver Tim Patrick from Kyle Goon. How about this note – as a junior college player and aspiring Ute, Patrick called Utah assistant Aaron Roderick for three months to talk about the academic work he had done that day (he was behind on his classwork).

California

So I know this is a “link roundup” and all, and I’m only providing a tweet for you Cal folks, but I feel it is paramount that you all know that Cal football has The Based God’s blessing:
