This Year in Pac-12 Men's Soccer

• The back-to-back Pac-12 Champion STANFORD captured its second consecutive NCAA title in men’s soccer defeating Wake Forest, 5-4 in penalty kicks. The Cardinal became the first repeat champion since Indiana in 2003 and 2004.

• The Pac-12 now has holds an all-time record of 128-99-11 (.560) in the NCAA Tournament, with six national championships and eight second-place finishes. Along with Stanford, WASHINGTON, SAN DIEGO STATE, and UCLA all appeared in the NCAA Tournament this season, tied for the second-most conference representatives in the field.

• WASHINGTON earned a berth to the Tournament advancing to the third round of play for the fourth time in program history. The Huskies ended their postseason run to Denver, 1-2, and finished the regular season placing second in the Conference standings with at 6-4 record.

• UCLA made its 34th consecutive appearance and 44th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins fell to Louisville, 2-1 in the second round.

• SAN DIEGO STATE earned its first postseason berth since 2006 and fell to UNLV during the first round in penalty kicks, 6-5. The Aztecs’ 9-4-6 overall record this year marked the program’s best since 2011.

• OREGON STATE ended the year with three victories in its last four matches, including two victories over ranked Conference opponents (No. 21 San Diego State and No. 14 Washington).

• CALIFORNIA rounded out the league and finished the season with an 5-10-2 season record highlighted by senior Christian Thierjung’s single-game school-record and Conference-leading five goals in the Golden Bears’ 6-2 win over Harvard earlier in the season.
