Roundup: Mike MacIntyre gets contract extension at Colorado

Colorado

After leading the Buffs to the Pac-12 Football Championship Game and a 10-win season, Colorado football coach Mike MacIntyre signed a contract extension through the 2021 season to remain in Boulder. Well-deserved extension right there.

Stanford

Stanford women’s volleyball coach John Dunning has retired after 16 seasons on The Farm. He led the Cardinal to three national championships, including one in 2016, and has five national titles to his name (he also won two at Pacific).

USC

USC football finished No. 3 in the final AP poll, making the Trojans the highest-ranked three-loss team in the history of the poll (Los Angeles Daily News).

California

She’s averaging a whopping 30.7 points per game for the season and has a decent shot of becoming the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer barring injury.

Aaron Fentress of CSN Northwest reports that Oregon is close to hiring defensive line coach Joe Salave’a, who is currently the defensive line coach at Washington State.

Washington State

We’ve seen this headline before – Washington State women’s basketball guard Chanelle Molina was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for the second straight week. Molina went for 33 in an upset of No. 7 UCLA Friday night.

Oregon State

After sweeping the Bay Area schools on the road, Oregon State women’s basketball is up to No. 10 in the Associated Press top 25.

UCLA

Maggie Hendricks of USA Today features Olympic gold medalists and UCLA gymnasts Kyla Ross and Madison Kocian, as the two made their UCLA debuts recently. This is the first time that gold medalists have competed for an NCAA team as teammates.

Utah

Kyle Goon gives us the skinny on Larry Krystkowiak’s back issues. He was visibly hobbled by a frozen up back in the Arizona State game, leaving Wells Fargo Arena in a wheelchair (he was walking under his own power by the time the team got back to the SLC, Goon reports).
