Washington

Well how about this – former Washington and USC head coach Steve Sarkisian has been named offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons (ESPN). Sark called the shots for ‘Bama in the College Football Playoff title game.

USC

Ronald Gasser pled not guilty to second-degree murder in the shooting death of former USC running back Joe McKnight. Wilborn P. Nobles III of The Times-Picayune has the story.

UCLA

No. 15 UCLA women’s basketball upset No. 8 Stanford 85-76 at Maples Pavilion Monday night, getting its first win on The Farm since 1999. Jordin Canada led the Bruins with 25 points, while Monique Billings had a monster of a night with 21 points, 15 boards and four blocks.

Oregon State

Take some time to read this feature on 100-year-old Oregon State basketball fan Marjorie Marsh, brought to us by Danny Moran. Great, great story, as Marsh makes her way to Gill Coliseum for just about every conference home game and listens to road games on the radio.

Oregon

Anne M. Peterson of the Associated Press writes that blowing out Arizona gives Oregon men’s basketball a shot in the arm going forward. The Ducks jumped up eight spots to No. 5 in the newest AP Top 25.

Washington State

Jacob Thorpe whips up this article on the Washington State men’s basketball bench producing choreographed routines to celebrate big plays (even a celebration for a Euro-step; I’m a fan).

California

David Lombardi writes that Cal football is searching for a new identity with Justin Wilcox now at the helm. Time for a defensive upheaval in Berkeley.

Utah

Lya Wodraska features Utah gymnast Maddy Stover in this piece for The Salt Lake Tribune. She did some nice work on the balance beam in Saturday’s meet against Cal.

Arizona

The Arizona Daily Star gets you caught up on what former Arizona Wildcats are doing in the NBA. T.J. McConnell has been very solid for the Sixers, while Derrick Williams was waived by Miami to make room for Okaro White (the Heat is 11-0 with White on the roster).

Stanford

David Lombardi thinks that Stanford running back Bryce Love will lead the Pac-12 in rushing in 2017, while Ted Miller believes Colorado’s Phillip Lindsay will hold down the throne and Chantel Jennings predicts that the crown will be worn by Oregon’s Royce Freeman.

Arizona State

Check out this 2017 Arizona State softball primer from TheSunDevils.com, as the Sun Devils kick off the campaign Thursday against UTEP.

Colorado

Colorado football believes its offensive line will remain a strength for the team going forward, writes Brian Howell. Some nice freshmen coming in up front.
