USC kicker Matt Boermeester has been suspended as the school investigates a “code of conduct issue,” reports Zach Helfand of the Los Angeles Times (first reported by Deadspin). Boermeester hit the game-winning field goal as time expired in the Rose Bowl against Penn State.

California

According to reports, Cal has ended talks of a future and home-and-home men's basketball series with Kansas over a discriminatory law. A California state law that took effect on Jan. 1 bans public universities and colleges from traveling to states with laws that discriminate against the LGBT community, including Kansas, North Carolina, Tennessee and Mississippi.  

Oregon

The ole’ Pac-12 chain reaction – according to Bruce Feldman and linked here by The Oregonian/OregonLive, Mark Helfrich and Chip Kelly might be in the running for the Alabama offensive coordinator opening.

UCLA

Lonzo Ball’s brother, LaMelo Ball, scored 92 points in a high school game Tuesday night, doing so on 37-of-61 shooting from the floor (hey now) and also found time to dish out seven assists. Granted, he partook in a lot of cherry-picking, but still…

Colorado

Pat Rooney reports that Xavier Johnson and Wesley Gordon are “day-to-day” for Colorado men’s basketball as the two were suspended for a violation of team rules for the loss at Cal.

Stanford
