Pac-12 Networks announces baseball talent and TV schedule

PAC-12 NETWORKS ANNOUNCES BASEBALL TALENT
AND TV SCHEDULE FOR FIFTH SEASON OF LIVE COVERAGE
 
Ben Francisco joins Pac-12 Networks baseball telecasts, Eric Byrnes returns
 
SAN FRANCISCO - In its fifth season of coverage, Pac-12 Networks welcomes former UCLA standout Ben Francisco to its roster of on-air talent who will deliver 102 collegiate baseball broadcasts this season.  Pac-12 Networks also welcomes back Eric Byrnes and returns familiar faces Wes Clements, Scott Erickson, Andy Lopez, Donnie Marbut, J.T. Snow, Kevin Stocker and Dean Stotz as analysts. Also joining the Pac-12 Networks play-by-play chair this season will be Ted Enberg.  The rest of the network’s play-by-play team includes returners Thad Anderson, Roxy Bernstein, Rich Burk, Joe Castellano, Troy Clardy, Guy Haberman, Greg Heister, J.B. Long, Ted Robinson, Daron Sutton, and Jim Watson.
 
Francisco joins Pac-12 Networks as a baseball analyst following a seven-year Major League Baseball career. Francisco made his mark as a star outfielder for the UCLA Bruins, earning All-Pac-10 honors in 2001. In 2002 he led the Bruins with a .368 batting average before being drafted in the fifth round of the MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians.

Each Pac-12 program will be featured at least 15 times: Arizona (20), Oregon State (19), Utah (19), Stanford (18), Washington (18), Arizona State (17), Cal (17), USC (17), UCLA (16), Oregon (15) and Washington State (15). Of the 102 total games, 21 will be traditional rivalry games including Arizona vs. Arizona State, Cal vs. Stanford, Oregon vs. Oregon State, UCLA vs. USC and Washington vs. Washington State.

Four Pac-12 baseball teams earned berths to the 2016 NCAA Baseball Championship. Utah won the Pac-12 Championship for the first time in program history while Arizona, Arizona State and Washington all earned at-large selections. The Arizona Wildcats earned a spot in the College World Series final, their first since they won the title in 2012. Under first-year head coach Jay Johnson, the Wildcats took their College World Series journey all the way to Game 3.

Every Pac-12 school had at least one student-athlete drafted in the 2016 MLB Draft: USC (12), Arizona (7), California (7), UCLA (6), Arizona State (5), Oregon (5), Oregon State (5), Stanford (4), Washington (3), Washington State (3) and Utah (1). ASU leads all NCAA schools with 414 total MLB draft picks, and at least one Sun Devil has been drafted every year since the draft’s inception in 1965.
