Stanford Headed To NCAA Women’s Final Four

• STANFORD makes its return to the NCAA Women’s Final Four since 2014. It is the 13th trip to the national semifinal for the Cardinal. It marks the ninth time the Pac-12 has had at least one national semifinal team in the last 10 years.

• WASHINGTON STATE is making a run at a title, as well, advancing to the WNIT semifinal after winning its first-ever postseason game in the first round.

• Pac-12 teams continue to build on a successful season that has been characterized by record-breaking moments. The Pac-12 was the best-represented conference in the Sweet Sixteen after a league-record five teams advanced that far with two teams earning a spot in the Elite Eight (Oregon and Stanford).

• The Pac-12 has won a league-record 15 NCAA Tournament games, topping last year’s total of 14. Including the WNIT games, the Pac-12 has posted a combined record of 21-8 in the postseason so far.

• Pac-12 teams went 7-0 in the first round, the second-straight year the league went undefeated in the opening round. Pac-12 teams have gone 12-0 in the first round the last two years combined.

• A Pac-12-record seven teams earned NCAA Tournament bids and three more were also invited to play in the WNIT, giving the Conference a league-record 10 postseason squads.

• For the second time ever and the second-straight year, the Pac-12 has four teams ranked in the final Associated Press poll. STANFORD is No. 6 and is back in the final top 10 since 2013-14. OREGON STATE is No. 8 for its second-straight top-10 final ranking in program history. WASHINGTON ends the season at No. 12, its first appearance in the final AP poll since 1995, and UCLA is No. 15 for its second-straight appearance in the final poll.

• For the fourth-consecutive year, the Pac-12 has at least five NCAA Tournament teams. OREGON STATE and STANFORD each earned No. 2 seeds, the highest-seeded Pac-12 teams, and WASHINGTON is a No. 3 seed, earning its highest seeding since 1995. UCLA is also a No. 4 seed, the fourth time in seven years the Bruins have received a top-five seeding, and No. 10 seed OREGON received an invite for the first tmie since 2005.

• The 10th-seeded Ducks advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time ever, upsetting No. 7-seed Temple and No. 2-seed Duke in Durham, N.C., to get to the third round. No. 8 seed ARIZONA STATE and No. 9-seed CALIFORNIA  also made it out of the first round.

• COLORADO, UTAH and WASHINGTON STATE earned WNIT bids. WSU posted its first-ever postseason win after winning in the first round. The Cougs advanced to the round of 16 and WSU is in the semifinal.
