Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona will be the site of the 2017 Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championships on April 24-26, 2017, and will feature some of the top collegiate golf teams and individuals in the country.

ARIZONA STATE has put together an amazing season as the Sun Devils are ranked No. 2 in the nation going into the Pac-12 Championship. Sophomore Linnea Strom placed first in the 2016 Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championship. She recorded two second-place finishes in the Darius Rucker Invitational and the Clover Cup during the 2017 season. The Sun Devils recently won the PING/ASU Invitational by 20 strokes, their first home tournament win since 2007. This marked the sixth consecutive top-three team finish for the Sun Devils and third team victory of the season, second in the last three outings.

No. 3 nationally ranked STANFORD has captured four of five starts this spring, including three straight at Peg Bernard Invitational, Allstate Intercollegiate and Bruin Wave Invitational. In its most recent start, Stanford won the Silverado Showdown with a program record 54-hole score of 16-under 848 (par-72). Freshman Albane Valenzuela posted three straight top 10’s, including season-best tie for fourth at the Bruin Wave Invitational, but has missed last two events due to injury. She represented her country at the Rio Olympics and tied for 21st to share low amateur honors.

UCLA, the No. 5 team in the country, has won three tournaments this season (Stanford Intercollegiate, Gifford Great 8 Match Play, Anuenue Spring Break Classic) along with three second-place showings and a third-place finish this season. Sophomore Lilia Vu has won three consecutive tournaments entering the Pac-12 Championships, just the second Bruin ever to do so. Freshman Mariel Galdiano has four top five finishes, including two in her last three starts entering the Pac-12 Championship.

No. 10 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, the defending Pac-12 Champions will look to sophomore Robynn Ree to lead the Trojans at the Pac-12 Championships. Head coach Andrea Gaston, in her 21st season as head coach, has put together three titles this season. Ree finds herself ranked 20th in the nation according to Golfstat.

No. 13 ARIZONA, the host of the 2017 Pac-12 Championship, is coming off a second-place finish at the Ping/ASU Invitational. The Wildcats count on junior Krystal Quihuis (72.05 avg) and an experienced group of seven returners.

CALIFORNIA women’s golf team closed out the regular season in impressive fashion, finishing tied for fourth at the Silverado Showdown. The Golden Bears are ranked No. 22 and will lean on senior Luciana Gutierrez (73.9 avg) as they move into post season.

COLORADO heads into the championship with momentum from a good regular season. The Buffs ended their regular season by posting the third best score in school history at the Silverado Showdown. The Buffs are led by senior Esther Lee who tied for 18th place at the Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championship in 2016. This season, Lee’s scoring average of 73.00 has helped her secure a title in the Branch Law/Dick McGuire Invitational during the regular season.

OREGON will look to senior Cathleen Santoso as they advance into post season competition. Most recently, Santoso recorded a 6-under 66 in the Silverado Showdown at the Silverado Country Club. The Ducks recorded a second-place finish at the Paul Barnard Invitational this season.

WASHINGTON, the defending NCAA champion, is ranked 59th according to Golfweek leading up to the Pac-12 Championship. Head Coach Mary Lou Mulflur was named Pac-12 Coach of the Year after leading the Huskies to their first national championship in 2016. The Huskies recently finished third in the PING/ASU Invitational.

OREGON STATE women’s golf team most recently shot a 2-under 286 in the final round of the PING/ASU Invitational to move up the leaderboard and finish in a tie for fifth place. The Beavers have five returners and look to win their first title of the year.

Coach Kelli Kamimura looks to move WASHINGTON STATE up the leaderboard at this year’s Pac-12 Championship. Leading the Cougars into her 8th season as a head coach, WSU finished the regular season tied for 13th place with Hawaii at the Silverado Showdown.
