Roundup: Mock draft has Solomon Thomas, Christian McCaffrey going in top 10

Stanford

Peter King of Sports Illustrated has Stanford defensive lineman Solomon Thomas going second overall to the San Francisco 49ers in his NFL Mock Draft. Other Pac-12ers going in his mock first round include Stanford’s Christian McCaffrey (eighth to Carolina), UCLA’s Takkarist McKinley (15th to Indianapolis), Utah’s Garett Bolles (23rd to the Giants) and John Ross (32nd to Arizona, after some mock trades).

USC

Scott Wolf writes that Adoree’ Jackson wants to sneak into the first round of the NFL Draft. Currently, he’s projected to go in the first two rounds, and Wolf gets a quote from an NFC defensive coordinator who thinks he’s a second-round pick.

Washington

Adam Jude talks with Robert Baker, older brother of former Washington safety Budda Baker, for this article as lil bro has the potential to be snagged in the first round of the NFL Draft. Robert spent more than seven years in prison for first-degree robbery but has turned his life around since.

California

Cal women’s volleyball coach Rich Feller retired on Monday after 18 years on the job. Feller went 329-229 at Cal and led the Golden Bears to their first-ever Pac-12 title to go along with two Final Four appearances.

Arizona

From over the weekend – Arizona softball’s Katiyana Mauga broke the program’s career home run record in a Saturday win over Oregon. She now has 88 for her career, which is seven shy of the NCAA record.

Oregon State

Andrew Theen of The Oregonian/OregonLive lets us know that Oregon State University debuted a new logo, mission statement and branding campaign Monday. This new logo will not be used for athletics.

UCLA

UCLA is in first after the first day of the 2017 Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championships in large thanks to individual co-leaders Lilia Vu and Bethany Wu. The Bruins enter Tuesday with a six-stroke lead over Stanford and Colorado.

Colorado

Meanwhile, Colorado will host the Pac-12 Men’s Golf Championships beginning Friday at Boulder Country Club.

Utah

Kyle Goon reports that senior safety Jordan Fogal is transferring from the Utah football team, Fogal announced on Twitter Sunday. He will be able to play somewhere next year as a graduate transfer.

Washington State

Josh Peters of USA TODAY Sports writes a feature story on Ryan Leaf, informing us that he will be an analyst for ESPN for the NFL Draft and is also the subject of a 30 for 30 documentary. Sounds like he has gotten his life back together after years of troubles, so that’s some good news.

Oregon

Despite losing a ton of guys to the NBA Draft and potentially a couple of transfer situations, Oregon men’s basketball coach Dana Altman is optimistic about the Ducks’ future. Tyson Alger has the story for The Oregonian/OregonLive.

Arizona State
