USC wins the 2017 Pac-12 Men’s Tennis Championship

OJAI, Calif. - No. 3 seeded USC was able to clinch the underdog win against No. 1 seeded UCLA after battling through both the singles and doubles at the 2017 Pac-12 Men’s Tennis Championship.

USC’s Rob Bellamy and Jack Jaede claimed the first doubles win on court No. 3, 6-2. UCLA’s Martin Redlicki and Evan Zhu combatted the point with a win on court No. 1, 7-5. UCLA’s Nick Crystal and Laurens Verboven clinched the win for the Bruins with a win on court No. 2, 7-6. Martin Redlicki claimed the first singles point for the Bruins on court No. 2, 6-2, 6-3. USC’s Logan Smith won on court No. 3, 7-5, 6-1. Thibault Forget followed his teammate with a win on court No. 5, 6-2, 7-5. UCLA came back with a win on court No. 6 by Maxime Cressy, 7-6, 6-4, and court No. 4 by Logan Staggs, 3-6, 7-5, 6-0. The clinching point came down to the matchup between USC’s  Brandon Holt and UCLA’s  Gage Brymer on court No. 1. USC’s Holt ultimately won after a hard fought battle, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4, making the Trojans the 2017 Pac-12 Men’s Tennis Champion.
