Two-time Olympic MVP and Stanford women’s water polo senior Maggie Steffens was named MPSF Player of the Year, the conference announced Tuesday. This is the second time she has been named league POTY.

Oregon

Oregon baseball southpaw David Peterson was named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week, and also earned a Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week nod after striking out 20 Sun Devils in a complete-game shutout Friday night.

Washington State

Nice get – Washington State men’s basketball signed Roberto Gittens, a four-star prospect out of the Tacoma area. He is the first four-star recruit to play at Wazzu since Klay Thompson.

Arizona State

Chris Coppola of The Arizona Republic lets us know that former Arizona State football great Todd Heap and his wife, Ashley, are designating a “Hugs From Holly Day” to honor their daughter, Holly, who was killed when Heap accidentally struck her in his truck in the driveway of their home. Holly was about three weeks shy of her fourth birthday at the time of the accident.

USC

Jeff Eisenberg of Yahoo! Sports believes that USC men’s basketball has what it takes to have a big season next year with Bennie Boatwright back in the fold.

Arizona

Rob Dauster of NBC Sports ranks Arizona men’s basketball fourth in his preseason top 25. He also has USC 13th and UCLA 15th.

Oregon State

California

Washington

Paul Myerberg of USA TODAY Sports is of the opinion that Washington football has the easiest non-conference schedule in the nation in 2017. The Dawgs play Rutgers, Montana and Fresno State before getting into their Pac-12 slate.
