UCLA

Big Baller Brand released its ZO2 shoe for Lonzo Ball Thursday, going for the oh-so-cheap price of $495. If you want a pair with Lonzo’s John Hancock, that’s gonna run you another $500. Don’t have that kind of scratch? Don’t worry, you can cop the sandals for only $220. Darren Rovell has the breakdown in the link, and LaVar Ball comes through with an early Tweet of the Year candidate:

Washington

In case you missed it from earlier in the week (we were gonna run this in the roundup Wednesday, but Isaiah Thomas went off for 53 the night before), former Husky and NBA player Brandon Roy was shot in the leg while shielding children from gunfire in front of his grandmother’s house (he’s fine, thankfully). Sam Amick of USA TODAY Sports reports that detectives have been unable to interview Roy as of Friday morning.

Oregon

Former UO football/track & field star Devon Allen's return highlights the Oregon Twilight Friday night in Eugene. He's slated to compete in the 110-meter hurdles and it'll mark his first event since injuring his knee last fall as a member of the Ducks football team.

USC

The NCAA Beach Volleyball Championships begin Friday, and Jonathan Hawthorne features USC seniors Kelly Claes and Sara Hughes for espnW. My guess is you’re gonna hear a lot more from Jonathan Hawthorne over the years; heckuva young reporter at Oregon.

Colorado

The NCAA Men’s Golf Regional selections were released Thursday, and Colorado is heading to the Central/Purdue Regional in Indiana. The Buffs, ranked 32nd national by GolfStat, are making their fifth consecutive regional appearance.

Arizona

Kurt Helin of NBC Sports lets us know that Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is getting special treatment for his back at Duke on Friday and is “very unlikely” to coach in the Warriors’ second-round series against the Utah Jazz.

Stanford

Not to be confused with Hannah Baker’s mother from the show 13 Reasons Why (heck of a show, finished it Thursday night/Friday morning at 3 a.m.), here’s a profile of Stanford track athlete Olivia Baker, who is attempting to break the two-minute mark in the 800 meters. Thanks for the feature, Vytas Mazeika of the Bay Area News Group.

Utah

Utah pitcher Jayson Rose broke the school’s career strikeout record Thursday night in a 7-3 win over UC Riverside.

Oregon State

Danny Moran writes that Oregon State first baseman KJ Harrison is showing progress at the plate despite his power numbers dipping a bit. The top-ranked and first-in-conference Beavs host Cal this weekend.

Arizona State

Arizona State baseball opens a three-game set against Stanford at Phoenix Muni Friday night, and click on the link to read the ASU game notes.

California

Cal sports information director Ben Enos writes a feature on Cal catcher Tyrus Greene for the Cal Sports Quarterly magazine.

Washington State

The folks at CougCenter banter about win probabilities for Washington State football in 2017.
