CORVALLIS, Ore. - WASHINGTON STATE redshirt junior Alissa Brooks-Johnson won her second career heptathlon title, while OREGON senior Mitch Modin captured his first decathlon crown at the 2017 Pac-12 Track & Field Championships combined events at Oregon State's Whyte Track & Field Center on Sunday.

In the 14-athlete heptathlon field, Brooks-Johnson added to her Day 1 lead to post an 87-point victory over runner-up Kara Hallock of host OSU. In the eight-athlete decathlon, Modin, who had second-, third- and fourth-place efforts in three prior Pac-12 decathlon trips, erased a 145-point deficit over the final four events to secure an elusive Pac-12 championship in his final appearance.

Brooks-Johnson totaled 5,638 points to capture her second Pac-12 heptathlon title in the past three years (2015), joining Ellanee Richardson (2001-03) as the only Cougars to win multiple Conference crowns. Brooks-Johnson's consistency was critical to adding to her 2015 championship as she finished in the top 5 in all seven events, including top-3 performances in five disciplines.
