Roundup: Oregon men's golf looking to bring home No. 501 to the Pac-12

After defeating Vanderbilt and Oklahoma State in the quarterfinals and semis Tuesday, Oregon men’s golf will face Oklahoma for the NCAA title Wednesday in Sugar Grove, Ill. Will No. 501 be won this afternoon? Watch the Ducks try to defend their title at 1 p.m. PT on the Golf Channel.

Arizona State cornerback Kareem Orr is transferring to UT Chattanooga to be closer to home (he is from Chattanooga), reports Jeff Metcalfe. Since UT Chattanooga is an FCS school, Orr can play this season.

Utah gymnastics assistant Meredith Paulicivic has been named the head coach at Ohio State (Lya Wodraska, Salt Lake Tribune). The former Utah gymnast spent the last two years as an assistant for the Red Rocks. Best of luck to her at THE Ohio State University.

Former Cal gymnast Mark Freeman has been named an assistant coach for the Cal men’s gymnastics program. The Golden Bears have a new head coach in J.T. Okada.

Arizona All-American swimmer Blair Bish is transferring to Missouri State (Swimming World). He finished 15th in the 100 breaststroke at the 2017 NCAA Championships.

Stanford men’s basketball will face Florida in its first game of the PK80 event in Portland on Thanksgiving. PK80 is a 16-team event divided into two brackets to celebrate Phil Knight’s 80th birthday (known for his generous giving to Oregon, Knight got his MBA from Stanford in 1962).

Mark this down on your calendars, y’all: Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports that Lonzo Ball will work out for the Los Angeles Lakers on June 7.

Six Washington State baseball players earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors – pitcher Davis Baillie, pitcher Kevin Calderhead, Trenton Dupre, third baseman Shane Matheny, pitcher Caleb McAlister and pitcher Ryan Walker all received honorable-mention nods.
