Roundup: Ohio State will have to get Sean Miller over UA president's 'dead body'

Arizona

Arizona president Dr. Robert Robbins told the Arizona Republic that Ohio State will not lure men’s basketball coach Sean Miller away from Arizona. “They will have to come over me to get him, as the saying goes, over my dead body,” Robbins said. THE Ohio State University announced earlier this week that Thad Matta is out as head coach due to back pain. 

Oregon State

Oregon State baseball will play Vanderbilt in the Corvallis Super Regional starting Friday at 6 p.m. PT on ESPN2. Game 2 is scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m. PT on ESPN, while Game 3 will be at 6 p.m. PT on ESPN2 or ESPNU, if necessary.

Arizona State

In addition to being named Pac-12 Coach of the Year, Arizona State women’s golf head coach Missy Farr-Kaye was named WGCA National Coach of the Year after the leading the Sun Devils to a national title last month. Additionally, Monica Vaughn was named Pac-12 Golfer of the Year.

Stanford

Stanford baseball closer Colton Hock was named a finalist for the Stopper of the Year Award, the NCBWA announced Wednesday. Kenyon Yovan of Oregon is also on the five-man list.

UCLA

UCLA baseball’s Nick Kern was named the Muscle Milk Athlete of the Year for his dedication to sports nutrition. With my eating of four cookies every day at lunch and two chocolate chip cookies most nights of the week back in college, I wasn’t winning any Muscle Milk Student Manager of the Year awards in my day.

Oregon

The Oregon women are looking to make history at the NCAA Track & Field Championships this week at Hayward Field, writes Chris Hansen of The Register-Guard. The Ducks could be the first women’s team to win the Triple Crown, as the Ducks have already won NCAA cross country and indoor titles this year.

USC
