Oregon

Oregon sprinter Deajah Stevens is turning pro, reports Chris Hansen of The Register-Guard. The to-be senior is the 2017 U.S. champion in the 200 meters and will stay in school to finish her degree despite giving up her collegiate track eligibility.

UCLA

Lonzo Ball had another triple-double for the Los Angeles Lakers Thursday night in a 94-83 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, going for 16 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. ‘Twas his second triple-double in three games.

Arizona

In other Summer League action, former Wildcat Nick Johnson scored 17 points to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 91-85 win over the Toronto Raptors (AZ Desert Swarm). Small sample size, but Johnson is a sizzling 7-for-8 from downtown in five games in Vegas.

Stanford

Stanford offensive lineman Clark Yarbrough is retiring due to health concerns stemming from his history of concussions (NBC Sports). The former four-star recruit redshirted last year as a true freshman.

Washington State

Washington State offensive lineman Cody O’Connell was named to the Outland Trophy watch list Thursday morning. Stefanie Loh of The Seattle Times has the deets.

Arizona State

Arizona State defensive lineman JoJo Wicker was named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list, it was announced Thursday. Wicker was second on the team with 11 tackles for loss last year en route to second-team All-Pac-12 accolades.

USC

USC men’s basketball sophomore Nick Rakocevic will play for the Serbian U20 national team at the 2017 U20 European Championships in Greece beginning Saturday (USCTrojans.com).

California

Cal junior Kristine Anigwe was invited to the 2017 USA Women’s Basketball U23 training camp (July 31-August 4 in Colorado Springs). The Daily Californian provides us with more info in the link.

Utah

Utah has extended its radio deal with ESPN 700 through the 2021-22 season (The Salt Lake Tribune). The station will continue to air football and men’s and women’s basketball, and will now add home gymnastics meets and weekday night and weekend home baseball games to the ledger.

Colorado

You notice that college football training camps are starting at the end of July now? That’s about a week earlier than prior years thanks to the NCAA eliminating two-a-days, and Colorado football coach Mike MacIntyre thinks that the longer training camp will help players.

Washington
