USC

Pac-12 Football Media Days begin Wednesday, and the big news right off the bat is that the media has picked USC to win the Pac-12 title, with the Trojans projected to beat Washington in the Pac-12 Football Championship Game.

Colorado

Looks like the defending Pac-12 South champs will have to prove themselves to the world all over again, as Colorado is picked to finish fourth in the Pac-12 South (BuffZone.com). However, Brian Howell notes that this is the first time that Colorado has not been picked to finish last in the South since joining the Pac-12.

Utah

Former Oregon receiver Darren Carrington is transferring to Utah, according to media reports and linked here by CBS Sports.

Arizona

This would be tight – Jon Rothstein of FanRag Sports reports that Arizona and Indiana are working on a multi-year men’s basketball series that would feature the schools playing each other for three straight years from 2019-22. If it happens, we’ll potentially get a chance to see Sean Miller coach against his younger brother, Archie.

California

Former Cal basketball star Allen Crabbe has been traded by the Portland Trail Blazers to the Brooklyn Nets for Andrew Nicholson. A salary dump for the Blazers, but Crabbe wasn’t a slouch last year, shooting 44 percent from 3-point range.

UCLA

Adrian Wojnarowski reports that former Bruin Arron Afflalo has agreed to a one-year deal with the Orlando Magic worth $2.3 million. Afflalo’s best season came with Orlando in 2013-14, when he averaged 18.2 points per game. He has also played for Detroit, Denver, Portland, New York and Sacramento.
