The debate is over – if Mike Leach says that a hot dog is not a sandwich, then a hot dog is not a sandwich, dammit.

Colorado

Colorado cornerback Anthony Julmisse was arrested on domestic violence allegations Thursday night and has been suspended indefinitely from the team, reports Brian Howell and Amelia Arvesen of BuffZone.com. The Buffs open fall camp Saturday, and Julmisse had been expected to compete for a starting cornerback spot.

USC

At Pac-12 Football Media Days, USC football coach Clay Helton said that O.J. Simpson will not be welcomed back at USC (College Football Talk). Included in that, Helton said that Simpson will not be invited to watch practice, according to an interview he did with the Orange County Register (CBS Sports on the link).

Oregon

Another tidbit from Pac-12 Football Media Days – Oregon coach Willie Taggart harbors no hard feelings toward new Utah wide receiver Darren Carrington. Taggart dismissed Carrington from the Oregon football team earlier in the month for off-field issues.

Former Pac-12 Player and Defensive Player of the Year Jorge Gutierrez has agreed to play in Italy with Aquila Trento, according to international basketball website Sportando (it’s a very reliable source).

UCLA

UCLA alum Sigi Schmid was named head coach of LA Galaxy on Thursday. Schmid is the Bruins all-time winningest men's soccer coach, leading the program to three national championships over 19 seasons.

Arizona State
