Roundup: Tyler Huntley named Utah's starting quarterback
Shocking news out of Salt Lake City, where sophomore Tyler Huntley was named Utah’s starting quarterback (The Deseret News). Huntley beat out senior and team captain Troy Williams and Alabama transfer Cooper Bateman.
USC is No. 4 in the Associated Press preseason top 25, looking up only at Alabama, Ohio State and Florida State. Also in the top 25 from the Pac-12 are No. 8 Washington, No. 14 Stanford and No. 24 Washington State.
Overall, 'twas a very good opening weekend for Pac-12 women’s soccer teams, and here’s the Pac-12 Networks recap of Cal women’s soccer defeating Santa Clara 2-1. The Golden Bears scored twice in the final 10 minutes to come out on top (looks like a pretty soft penalty awarded from that camera angle in the recap, but hey, congrats on the win).
