Roundup: Sean Miller makes a statement on investigation

Arizona

Arizona men’s basketball coach Sean Miller released a statement Tuesday regarding the FBI investigation that includes the arrest of Emanuel “Book” Richardson. “I was devastated to learn last week of the allegations made against Emanuel Richardson. I have expressed to both Dr. Robbins and our Athletic Director Dave Heeke that I fully support the University’s efforts to fully investigate these allegations,” Miller said in part.

Washington State

The Pac-12 fined Washington State $25,000 for fans rushing the field after the Cougars’ 30-27 win against USC Friday night, reports Kyle Bonagura.

USC

USC defensive lineman Liam Jimmons has been punished internally by the team after pushing down a Washington State fan on the field (Yahoo Sports). The Spokesman-Review is reporting that Washington State University police is still investigating the incident.

Colorado

Colorado football assistant coach Darrin Chiaverini lost two family friends in the mass shooting in Las Vegas Sunday night that left 59 dead and more than 500 injured, reports Brian Howell.

Oregon State

Oregon State running back Ryan Nall was in a walking boot at practice on Tuesday after spraining his left ankle in the loss to Washington. OSU running backs coach Telly Lockette said he hopes Nall, the team’s leading rusher, will be able to play against USC Saturday afternoon.

California

Cal’s Shinya Kadono was named Pac-12 Men’s Soccer Player of the Week after scoring goals against both UCLA and San Diego State over the weekend.

Stanford

Sweet- the Indianapolis Star is reporting that Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck will practice Wednesday and Friday this week. Unfortunately, there is still no timetable for his return.

UCLA

Ben Bolch of the Los Angeles Times highlights UCLA linebacker Kenny Young, who made a team-high 12 tackles (one TFL) in the Bruins’ 27-23 win over Colorado.

Utah

A spotless 14-for-14 on field goal attempts and PATs alike, Utah kicker Matt Gay is “pursuing perfection,” writes Dirk Facer of the Deseret News. The 23-year-old Gay is playing football for the first time since his senior year in high school. He spent two years on a Mormon mission to Houston and a couple of years with the Utah Valley University soccer team before walking onto the Utah football team in the preseason.
