California

Good on ya, Jared – Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff is raising money for Northern California fire relief on GoFundMe (For the Win). At the time of this writing, the Novato native and former Cal signal-caller has raised $29,820 (his goal is $50,000).

Arizona

Arizona is No. 5 in the USA TODAY Sports men’s basketball preseason coaches’ poll, it was announced Thursday morning (USA TODAY). Other teams from the Pac-12 include No. 11 USC and No. 18 UCLA. Duke is the preseason No. 1, while No. 2 Michigan State, No. 3 Kansas and No. 4 Kentucky round out the top five in front of Arizona.

Oregon State

Danny Moran reports that Oregon State has hired the search firm DHR International to assist in its hiring of a new football coach. The Chicago-based DHR International will get a fee that “shall not exceed $200,000,” Moran notes.

USC

USC defensive tackle Josh Fatu is in concussion protocol after suffering a head injury in a car accident, reports John Taylor of NBC Sports. Fatu is listed as day-to-day for the Notre Dame game.

Stanford

So can Stanford running back Bryce Love break Barry Sanders’ NCAA record for single-season rushing yards? Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports has some projections for ya (it looks pretty unlikely).

Washington State

Here are the qualities Washington State president Kirk Schulz wants in the next AD for the Cougars, and we know these courtesy of Stefanie Loh of The Seattle Times.

UCLA

With Lonzo Ball set to make his NBA regular season debut Thursday night with the Los Angeles Lakers, you should know that UCLA has the most active NBA players in the Pac-12 with 15 (UCLABruins.com).

Oregon

Heading into its next game against UCLA, Oregon needs quarterback Braxton Burmeister to be more efficient, writes Andrew Greif. Burmeister is set to make his third consecutive start following Justin Herbert’s injury.

Arizona State

Craig Morgan of ArizonaSports.com writes that Arizona State football needs to build off the win over Washington. Was the upset just a one-off, or is it something that can catapult the Sun Devils into serious contention for the Pac-12 South? This week’s game at Utah will be a good barometer.

Colorado

Check out this Colorado-Washington State game preview, voiced by our Yogi Roth.

Utah

Utah’s Zack Moss is finding a groove in the running game, writes Lynn Worthy. Moss ran for 141 yards in the loss to USC Saturday night.

Washington

The Huskies have a bye this week, but does Washington have enough cornerbacks to match up with UCLA the following week? That’s the question posed by Todd Milles.
