SAN FRANCISCO - Pac-12 cross country prepares for the NCAA West and Mountain Regionals on Friday, November 10. Eleven women’s teams, including Pac-12 Champion No. 1 COLORADO, and eight men’s team, including Pac-12 Champion No. 4 STANFORD, compete for a berth to the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championship on Saturday, November 18, 2017 in Louisville, KY.
Third-consecutive Pac-12 Champion and current No. 1 in the USTFCCCA poll Colorado and UTAH women’s cross country compete in the Mountain Regional hosted by Utah State in Logan, Utah for their spot in NCAA’s. The No. 5 Colorado men also race in the Mountain Region.
In the West Region hosted by WASHINGTON in Seattle, Wash., Pac-12 Champion No. 4 Stanford leads the way in the men’s race along with, ARIZONA, CALIFORNIA, No. 13 OREGON, No. 10 UCLA, No. 20 Washington, and No. 27 WASHINGTON STATE. John Reniewicki of ARIZONA STATE competes as an individual. On the women’s side, Arizona, Arizona State, No. 26 California, defending NCAA Champion No. 3 Oregon, Oregon State, No. 7 Stanford, UCLA, No. 16 Washington, and Washington State compete for a berth to NCAA’s. USC’s Amber Gore competes as an individual.
On October 27, junior individual champion Dani Jones led the No. 1 Colorado women to their third consecutive team title, while junior Grant Fisher powered the No. 4 Stanford men past six-time defending champion CU in front of 2,175 fans at the 2017 Pac-12 Cross Country Championships at Springfield Golf Club in Eugene, Ore.
The six-kilometer women’s Mountain Regional race begins at 10:15 a.m. MT and the men’s 10k starts at 11:15 a.m. MT at the Steve and Dona Reeder Cross Country Course in Logan, Utah. The West region races will be at 10:30 a.m. PT and 11:30 a.m. PT, with the women running first. Both will be at the Jefferson Golf Course in Seattle, Wash. hosted by Washington.
