Stanford

Big Game is here, and here is the Big Game preview courtesy of the Associated Press (5 p.m. PT, FOX). The Cardinal can clinch the Pac-12 North with an eighth straight win over the Golden Bears and a Washington win over the Cougars next weekend.

UCLA

We also have USC-UCLA on deck for you, and David Wharton of the Los Angeles Times reminds us that the rivalry’s history shows that UCLA might be a “dangerous underdog” for the Trojans.

USC

You think USC-UCLA is a heated rivalry? It’s not nearly as dangerous as the rivalry was in the 1950s, reminisces Scott Wolf. He reminds/informs us that in 1958, a couple of USC students planted a fake time bomb under a UCLA cheerleader platform at the Coliseum. Don’t worry- it was all in good fun; just your usual prank. Something tells me that wouldn’t be considered funny in 2017.

Oregon

Sabrina Ionescu posted her second consecutive triple-double in leading No. 10 Oregon women’s basketball to an 83-68 win at No. 19 Texas A&M Thursday, going for 16 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists to tie the Pac-12 record of six career triple-doubles (Stanford’s Nicole Powell being the other with six). The Ducks are must-see TV right now.

Utah

Lynn Worthy tells us that Utah men’s basketball’s “stout defense” keyed the Utes’ 77-59 win over Missouri Thursday night at the Huntsman Center (granted, Michael Porter Jr. didn’t play, but still, an impressive win).

California

Cal men’s soccer lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to USF 2-1 Thursday night. With Washington losing in OT to Seattle U, the two-time defending national champion Stanford Cardinal is the only Pac-12 team remaining in the NCAA men’s soccer landscape.

Colorado

Colorado running back Phillip Lindsay is a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award (top RB in the nation), it was announced Friday (Buffzone.com). Other Pac-12ers who are semifinalists for the award are Oregon’s Royce Freeman, Stanford’s Bryce Love and USC’s Ronald Jones II.

Washington

With the College Football Playoff out of the equation on Montlake, Washington has its eyes on facing Utah and trying to win a Pac-12 North title (Associated Press). The Huskies will be the biggest Cal fans outside of Berkeley this weekend.

Arizona State

The Sun Devils can get magic win No. 6 Saturday afternoon at Oregon State (noon PT/1 p.m. MT, Pac-12 Networks), and Jose Esparza of ArizonaSports.com lets us know that Arizona State is trying to plug up some holes against the Beavers.

Arizona

Very intriguing matchup at Autzen with Oregon playing host to Arizona (4 p.m. PT, 5 p.m. MT, Pac-12 Networks), and Michael Lev features the Schooler brothers, with Brenden suiting up for the Ducks and Colin a solid linebacker for Arizona. This is the first time the two will play against each other.

Washington State

Nicholas K. Geranios of the Associated Press writes about Washington State finally getting a bye week in advance of the Apple Cup. The Cougars opened the 2017 campaign by playing games in 11 consecutive weeks.

Oregon State

Danny Moran writes that Oregon State men’s basketball is counting on freshman Ethan Thompson early in the 2017-18 season. Ethan is the younger brother of junior guard Stephen Thompson Jr.
