Arizona State

Arizona State fired football coach Todd Graham, the school announced on Sunday. Graham, who will stay on through the team’s bowl game, is 46-31 in six years in Tempe and has led the Sun Devils to five bowl games. Graham did a good job at Arizona State and his team exceeded outside expectations in 2017, finishing second in the Pac-12 South after a slow start to the season.

UCLA

The big news over the weekend was that Chip Kelly got the head coaching gig at UCLA, and ESPN’s Ivan Maisel gives his thoughts on Kelly coming to UCLA in this link. Kelly recruited the state of California very well when he was at Oregon.

Oregon State

Danny Moran reports that the Oregon State football assistant coaches have been fired but Cory Hall is still the interim head coach as the Beavers continue their search for the full-time guy. The Beavers wrapped up the 2017 campaign at 1-11 with a 69-10 loss to Oregon in the Civil War.

Stanford

Stanford women’s soccer is on to the College Cup after blasting away Penn State 4-0 in the quarterfinals. The top-seeded Cardinal is 22-1 on the season and has won 20 in a row. Joining the Cardinal in the Final Four are UCLA, Duke and South Carolina (Stanford plays South Carolina and UCLA plays Duke in the semis).

Colorado

Colorado women’s volleyball earned an NCAA tournament berth and will play James Madison in a first-round game on Friday in Waco, Texas. Winner gets the winner of No. 12 Baylor-Miami (OH). The Buffs are one of nine Pac-12 volleyball teams to get an NCAA bid.

Washington

Adam Jude gives us Washington football’s bowl-game possibilities following a dominant Apple Cup victory over Wazzu. It’s looking like either the Alamo or Holiday bowl for the Dawgs (Jude thinks a New Year’s Six game is highly unlikely).

California

Following a heartbreaking 30-27 loss to UCLA in the regular season finale that left the Golden Bears at 5-7, Cal football wants more than just a bowl-game appearance in 2018, writes Rusty Simmons.

Utah

Christopher Kamrani of The Salt Lake Tribune writes about how Troy Williams rose to the occasion on Senior Night to lift the Utes to a 34-13 win over Colorado to get Utah to a bowl game. With Huntley out for the game with an injury, Williams completed more than 60 percent of his passes for 181 yards and rushed for two touchdowns.

Washington State

How ‘bout dem Cougs? Washington State men’s basketball won the Wooden Legacy championship, defeating San Diego State 93-86 Sunday night to claim the crown after defeating St. Joseph’s and No. 21 Saint Mary’s earlier in the Fullerton-based tourney. The Cougars are now 6-0 with three quality wins.

Arizona

Rob Dauster of NBC Sports’ College Basketball Talk wonders what’s wrong with Arizona men’s basketball after the Wildcats went 0-3 in the Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas, including a 25-point loss to Purdue in the seventh-place game.

USC

Here’s the Los Angeles Times gamer from USC men’s basketball’s 75-59 loss to Texas A&M Sunday night at the Galen Center.

Oregon

Former Oregon men’s basketball player and three-time ABA All-Star Steve “Snapper” Jones died Saturday at the age of 75. Jones led the Ducks in scoring during the 1963-64 season.
