Arizona State

ESPN analyst and former New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs head coach Herm Edwards will interview for the Arizona State head coaching gig, he confirmed Tuesday. Kyle Bonagura has the details in the preceding link.

Oregon

Let the coaching rumors continue… USA TODAY Sports’ Dan Wolken reported that officials at Florida State are thinking about Willie Taggart as a potential replacement for Jimbo Fisher in the event Fisher takes the Texas A&M job (Bleacher Report on the link).

USC

In case you missed it from Monday, USC quarterback Sam Darnold denied a report that he would stay in school to avoid being drafted by the Cleveland Browns (USA TODAY Sports). “I didn’t say anything about the Browns,” Darnold told The Orange County Register. “I’ve never said anything bad about a team.”

Oregon State

Oregon State volleyball coach Mark Barnard was named Pac-12 Coach of the Year, while setter Kylee McLaughlin was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, the conference announced Tuesday. Heck of a year for the Beavs, earning their fourth NCAA Tournament berth in program history.

Washington State

Washington State extended the contract of women’s soccer head coach Todd Shulenberger through the 2023 season, the university announced Tuesday. The Cougars are coming off their first-ever trip to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

Stanford

Jeff Farauado wonders if Stanford will be able to get revenge against USC in the Pac-12 Football Championship Game after losing to the Trojans in the regular season by 18 points.

UCLA

UCLA men’s basketball coach Steve Alford defended Lonzo Ball, saying that Ball is receiving too much criticism for his jump shot (USA TODAY Sports). Ball is averaging 8.7 points, 7.1 assists and 7.3 rebounds on 31 percent shooting. Outside of the shooting numbers, that’s pretty good, especially when you consider he’s only averaging 2.7 turnovers a game. An 8-8-8 year if he can bump up the assists and boards a tad would be pretty, pretty good.

California

Check out the Pac-12 Networks recap of Cal men’s basketball defeating CSUN 83-63 Tuesday night. The Golden Bears tied a school record with 11 blocks against the Matadors.

Washington

And in other Pac-12 men’s hoops action Tuesday night, Noah Dickerson scored 24 points to lead Washington to an 85-71 win over Kennesaw State in Seattle (Pac-12 Networks recap).

Arizona

Arizona men’s basketball hosts Long Beach State Wednesday night (6 p.m. MT/5 p.m. PT, Pac-12 Networks) looking to break a three-game losing skid following a disappointing eighth-place finish at the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament in the Bahamas (ArizonaWildcats.com).

Utah

Utah men’s basketball coach Larry Krystkowiak wants to see more offensive production in the paint, notes Lynn Worthy. Forward David Collette dropped a season-high 24 points against Eastern Washington Friday, but Kyrstkowiak wants even more interior offense.

Colorado
