Stanford

Stanford men’s soccer won its third straight national championship by beating Indiana 1-0 in the finals on a golden goal from Sam Werner in the 103rd minute. Stanford now has 115 NCAA team titles, surpassing UCLA for the most in the country. The title also made the Cardinal the first DI school to win a national championship in men’s and women’s soccer in the same season.

Arizona State

How ‘bout them Sun Devils? Arizona State men’s basketball upset No. 2 Kansas 95-85 on the road, erasing a 15-2 deficit to start the game. Tra Holder had 29 points to lead the Sun Devils, who improved to 9-0 with the win. People around the country are taking notice of Bobby Hurley’s squad, and Jeff Borzello of ESPN has Arizona State No. 1 in his college basketball power rankings.

Washington State

Theo Lawson reports that Washington State wide receiver Tavares Martin Jr. has been dismissed from the team for a violation of team rules. Martin Jr. said on Twitter that he was dismissed from the team because he asked for his release from the Washington State football program.

Oregon

New Oregon football head coach Mario Cristobal said he is “all in with Oregon” at his introductory press conference Friday afternoon. Andrew Greif has more in the preceding link.

USC

USC women’s volleyball lost to Florida in five sets in the regional finals to wrap up its season at 25-10. The Trojans had a 2-1 set lead before dropping the fourth 26-24 and fifth 15-11. The NCAA volleyball semifinals are set with Stanford, Penn State, Florida and Nebraska.

UCLA

According to Bruce Feldman (and linked here by CBS Sports), UCLA football coach Chip Kelly is hiring former Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads as the Bruins’ defensive backs coach. Rhoads led the Cyclones to three bowl games in seven seasons and was the defensive coordinator at Arkansas this season.

Arizona

Never too early to look to next year’s race – Paul Myerberg of USA TODAY Sports believes Arizona quarterback Khalil Tate is a candidate to win the Heisman Trophy in 2018. Stanford running back Bryce Love also gets mentioned in the column after his runner-up finish to Baker Mayfield in the 2017 Heisman voting (he could head for the NFL Draft though; we shall see).

Washington

Unable to keep the momentum rolling from a huge win against the Jayhawks, Washington men’s basketball lost to No. 12 Gonzaga 97-70 on Sunday night (Pac-12 Networks highlights).

California

Penina Davidson scored a career-high 22 points to lead No. 25 Cal women’s basketball to a 92-85 win at Pacific (San Francisco Chronicle). Davidson also had 10 boards to give her a double-double in the venue in which she played her first collegiate game (Cal opened the 2014-15 season at UoP).

Colorado

Colorado football running back Phillip Lindsay was named team MVP at the Buffs’ annual senior banquet Sunday afternoon.

Oregon State

Oregon State men’s basketball defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff 85-58 Saturday night at Gill Coliseum, getting 19 points apiece from Tres Tinkle and Drew Eubanks (Associated Press recap).

Utah

Former Utah quarterback and offensive coordinator Brian Johnson will be the quarterbacks coach at Florida, new Gators head coach Dan Mullen announced Sunday (The Salt Lake Tribune). Johnson was the QBs coach for Mullen at Mississippi State the last three years.
