Oregon AD Rob Mullens has been named the College Football Playoff Selection Committee chair, it was announced Wednesday.

Stanford

How ‘bout dem Cardinal?! After a very discouraging start to the season at least partly due to injuries, Stanford continued its mid-season turnaround by beating No. 16 Arizona State at home Wednesday night (NBC Sports). The Cardinal is 5-1 in conference play, having won five straight league games for the first time since 2008 and are tied for first with Arizona (Stanford and Arizona play on Saturday).

Washington State

Colorado

Former Colorado women’s soccer midfielder Becca Rasmussen was selected by the North Carolina Courage in the second round of the NWSL Draft Thursday morning. Adam Jude lets us know that Washington signee Ale Kaho is the first five-star recruit for Chris Petersen. Kaho, a linebacker who signed with the Dawgs back in December, was recently bumped up to five stars by 247Sports.

Fresh off a Pac-12 football championship, USC was named the Pac-12 Zero Waste Competition winner. I’m surprised they won it with former Bruin Bill Walton on the judging panel.
