Roundup: USC fires men's basketball assistant Tony Bland

USC

USC has fired men’s basketball associate head coach Tony Bland, who was placed on administrative leave after he was arrested by FBI agents as a part of the probe into corruption in college and grassroots basketball. The Los Angeles Times broke the story on Thursday.

Washington State

Good news for the Cougs – Washington State linebacker Peyton Pelluer has been granted a sixth year of eligibility, the university confirmed Thursday (The Spokesman-Review). Pelluer suffered a foot fracture in the third game of the 2017 season against Oregon.

California

An anonymous $3 million gift is endowing the Cal men’s tennis head coaching position, the school announced Thursday morning. Per the release, the position will be named after current head coach Peter Wright once he retires.

Colorado

It had been reported a while ago, but Colorado football has officially reinstated linebacker Nu’umoto Falo. He was dismissed last summer after a positive drug test.

Arizona State

He hasn’t played for the Sun Devils yet as he is sitting out the year due to transferring from Kansas, but Arizona State men’s basketball forward Carlton Bragg is transferring to New Mexico, he announced Thursday.

Utah
