Roundup: Nick Foles named Super Bowl MVP

What a Super Bowl 52, huh? The game had all sorts of Pac-12 fingerprints on it, none bigger than former Arizona quarterback Nick Foles being named Super Bowl MVP after throwing for 373 yards and three touchdowns (not to mention a touchdown reception) to lead the Philadelphia Eagles to a 41-33 triumph over the New England Patriots. Former Duck LeGarrette Blount had a big game, rushing for 90 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries to help the Eagles to victory. Andrew Greif points out that Blount’s third ring ties him for the most Super Bowls won by a former Duck, alongside Derek Loville and Mike Walter. Blount won his first two as a member of the Patriots.

Unfortunately, former Beaver and current Pat Brandin Cooks had to leave the Super Bowl with a head injury after getting leveled by Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins.

Patrick Chun has officially started his tenure as Director of Athletics for Washington State. WSUCougars.com posted a letter from Chun on Monday, his first day on the job.

What a game this was – Brittany McPhee scored 33 points, including the last 19 of the game, to lead No. 24 Stanford women’s basketball to a 78-65 upset at No. 6 Oregon to get into a tie for first place in the Pac-12. This was one of those special performances you won’t forget if you saw it in person like yours truly.
