Roundup: Arizona men's basketball is a top 16 overall seed as of now

Arizona

The NCAA Tournament committee unveiled its "sneak peek" top 16 seeds as of Sunday, and currently, Arizona men’s basketball is a No. 4 seed. The Wildcats are the No. 15 overall seed according to the reveal and are coming off a 14-point win over USC on Saturday.

Arizona State

Fresh off a sweep of the SoCal schools at home, Arizona State men’s basketball is back in the AP Top 25 at No. 25. The Sun Devils are now 19-6 overall and 7-6 in Conference play.

Oregon

Sabrina Ionescu and Ruthy Hebard both joined the 1,000-point club in Oregon’s 90-79 win at Washington State. SID Joe Waltasti notes that Ionescu and Hebard are two of three players in program history to reach 1K as sophomores, with the other being Jillian Alleyne.

UCLA

Ben Bolch writes that UCLA men’s basketball’s NCAA Tournament hopes still are up in the air after a road split against the Arizona schools. The Bruins are currently a No. 10 seed in CBS Sports bracketologist Jerry Palm’s latest 68-team projections.

Utah

Kurt Kragthorpe notes that Utah men’s basketball has played its way into the Pac-12 race, and he believes they have a real chance. The Utes are in a four-way tie for sixth at 7-6 but just one game out of second place in the latest Pac-12 men's basketball standings on Pac-12.com.

Stanford

Stanford women’s basketball defeated Colorado 62-53 on Senior Day, getting 25 points and 12 rebounds from senior Brittany McPhee.

Colorado

In the men’s Stanford-Colorado game, Buffs sophomore Lucas Seiwert scored a career-high 17 points to lead the Buffs to a 64-56 win over the Cardinal. Pat Rooney has the game story.

Oregon State

Oregon State women’s basketball hit 18 3-pointers in a 95-57 rout at Washington on Sunday (AP recap), with Kat Tudor leading the way (7-9 3FG, 23 points).

California

Cal women’s basketball completed a home sweep of the Mountain schools by defeating Utah 84-73 Sunday afternoon at Haas Pavilion (Rusty Simmons on the story). The Golden Bears are now 8-6 in Conference play and well-positioned for a return trip to the Big Dance.

USC

Lindsey Thiry of the Los Angeles Times gives us the game recap from USC men’s basketball’s 81-67 loss at Arizona on Saturday.

Washington State

Theo Lawson reports that Washington State will hire Mason Miller as its new offensive line coach (not official yet). Miller was most recently the O-line coach at Nevada.
