Arizona

Another memorable chapter was written in the Arizona-Arizona State rivalry Thursday night, with the Wildcats hanging for a 77-70 win to complete the sweep of ASU, but perhaps the oddest thing to come out of this game was an Arizona cheerleader being ejected for heckling during the game, reportedly using his megaphone to call out players by name (Yahoo Sports).

USC

USC men’s basketball used a last-second alley-oop to defeat Oregon 72-70, with a Jordan McLaughlin-Chimezie Metu lob sealing it (CBS Sports). Helluva pass there from McLaughlin.

Stanford

Making her case for Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, Kiana Williams scored 26 points to lead Stanford to a 74-69 win over rival Cal for the team’s seventh straight win. The Card and Bears are back at it Saturday afternoon.

Utah

After watching the Utes notch a huge 70-58 win at Washington Thursday night, Kurt Kragthorpe opines that Larry Krystkowiak should be the Pac-12 Coach of the Year. The Utes are 16-9 overall (8-6 Pac-12) and have played its way onto the NCAA tournament bubble.

Oregon

Lexi Bando’s return to the lineup is a big plus for Oregon women’s basketball, writes Andrew Greif. Bando had missed seven games with a stress reaction in her left leg before returning to the lineup Sunday at Washington State. The Ducks host USC Friday and UCLA Monday as they try to keep pace with Stanford and the Bruins for first in the league.

Oregon State

Despite fighting hard in Westwood, Oregon State lost its 20th straight conference road game with the 75-68 loss to UCLA. Danny Moran has the details.

Washington State

Washington State men’s basketball defeated Colorado 73-69 Thursday night in Pullman, snapping a seven-game losing skid (Pac-12 Networks highlights).

Washington

Washington men’s basketball coach Mike Hopkins said his team needs to fight harder after the loss to Utah. The Utes shot 70 percent (14 of 20) from the floor in the second half.

Arizona State

The college baseball season gets underway Friday, and Jeff Metcalfe writes that unity is the theme for Arizona State baseball after suffering its first losing season since 1985 last year. The Sun Devils were picked to finish eighth in the Pac-12 preseason poll.

UCLA

Former UCLA basketball star Lonzo Ball dropped his debut album Thursday entitled “Born 2 Ball.” It features a track called “LaVar” dedicated to his outspoken father.

California

Tom FitzGerald features Cal baseball’s Tanner Dodson (along with Kevin Milam of Saint Mary’s), a dude who is a threat at the plate and on the mound. Dodson hit .297 last season for the Golden Bears, won the Cape Cod League batting title over the summer and can hit 96 on the radar gun.
