Pac-12 Men's and Women's Basketball set for unprecedented coverage on Pac-12 Networks

 

 

SAN FRANCISCO – Pac-12 Networks will be providing wall-to-wall coverage across men’s basketball and women’s basketball over the coming weeks. For the first time, Pac-12 Networks will provide over 10 hours of live coverage on-site at the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Tournament, presented by New York Life, in Las Vegas, Nev. Also for the first time, special editions of “Pac-12 Sports Report” will announce yearly conference award winners for both sports live on Pac-12 Network.  Coverage of both sports will culminate with another couple special editions of “Pac-12 Sports Report” following NCAA Tournament selections. 

 

In addition, Pac-12 Networks is also set to provide live studio coverage from its headquarters surrounding the Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Tournament, presented by New York Life, beginning Thursday, March 1.  Also ahead of the men’s tournaments, the Networks will debut a pair of “Pac-12 All Access: Men’s Basketball” episodes, taking an in-depth look at several Pac-12 men’s programs in each episode.

 

For the first time, the yearly awards for Pac-12 men and women’s basketball will be announced live on Pac-12 Network during two separate special editions of “Pac-12 Sports Report” on Tuesday, Feb. 27 for women’s and Monday, March 5 for men’s.  For both sports, the yearly honors for Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Scholar-Athlete of the Year and John R. Wooden Coach of the Year will be announced on-air during the two shows.  In addition, the men’s yearly honors will also include live reveals for Most Improved Player of the Year and Sixth Man of the Year during the men’s hour-long awards show.

  

Outside of the yearly awards for each sport, the entire slate of Pac-12 All-Conference teams will be announced earlier in the day prior to each show on Tuesday, Feb. 27 and Monday, March 5.

 

Beginning Thursday, March 1, Pac-12 Networks will air 10 of 11 contests of the 2018 Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Tournament from Key Arena in Seattle, Wash., including the first and second round as well as both semifinal games on Saturday, March 3 ahead of the championship game on Sunday, March 4 on ESPN2.  Surrounding the tournament will be live pre, post, halftime and coverage between games on Pac-12 Network with host Ashley Adamson and analysts Anne Marie Anderson and Rosalyn Gold-Onwude in-studio.

 

For the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Tournament, Pac-12 Networks will be providing live coverage on-site from Las Vegas for the first time, with over 10 hours on Pac-12 Network over the first three days of the tournament beginning Wednesday, March 7.  Host Mike Yam and analysts Kevin O’Neill, Lamar Hurd and Matt Muehlebach will be live from Pac-12 Fan Plaza at Toshiba Plaza outside of T-Mobile Arena for pre, post, halftime and coverage between games surrounding the morning and evening sessions on Wednesday, March 7 and Thursday, March 8, as well as semifinal games on Friday, March 9. 

 

Special editions of “Pac-12 Sports Report” will take place on Sunday, March 11 and Monday, March 12 to recap, analyze and preview NCAA Tournament selections from the Pac-12 for men’s and women’s basketball. 

 

In anticipation for the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Tournament, Pac-12 Networks will air a pair of 30-minute episodes of “Pac-12 All-Access: Men’s Basketball,” with both episodes taking an in-depth look at three different universities.  Both episodes will include “Pac-12 All-Access” features from this season, previously released on Pac-12 Now and Pac-12.com, including an exclusive look at the work ethic of Arizona freshman Deandre Ayton, the resurgence of Washington under head coach Mike Hopkins and more.

 

The two episodes are in addition to the first-ever episode focused solely on Pac-12 Women’s Basketball from earlier this year with “Pac-12 All-Access: Oregon & UCLA Women’s Basketball.”
