PAC-12 TIPOFF

SITES & SEEDS: During Arizona’s run to the national championship in 1997, the Wildcats were awarded the No. 4 seed in the Southeast Regional. This year, the Wildcats are the No. 4 seed in the South Regional.
>> UCLA was also a No. 11 seed in 2015 when it reached the Sweet 16.

ALL-AMERICAN AYTON: ARIZONA’s Deandre Ayton has been named a First Team All-American by the USBWA and Sporting News.
>> It marks the fifth consecutive year that a Pac-12 player made either the USBWA’s First- or Second-Team list. Only the ACC matches that streak.
>> Ayton is also among four finalists for the Naismith Trophy national player of the year. Beginning March 19 and running through March 30, fans will be able to cast their vote for their favorite player by visiting naismithtrophy.com/vote to help determine the winner. The fan component makes up five percent of the overall vote.

BIGS LOVE: The 23 double-doubles posted by ARIZONA freshman Deandre Ayton are the second-most nationally and most in the nation by a freshman.
>> Ayton has tied the league’s freshman record of 23 shared by UCLA’s Kevin Love (2007-08). The NCAA rookie mark is 28 by Kansas State’s Michael Beasley in 2007-08.
