UCLA

UCLA men’s basketball freshman Kris Wilkes will test the NBA Draft waters but will not hire an agent, Raphielle Johnson of NBC Sports notes (originally reported by the Los Angeles Times).

Arizona State

Arizona State football CEO Herm Edwards said he wouldn’t shy away from cutting scholarship players if they don’t live up to their end of the bargain (FootballScoop.com). He said cut players would remain on scholarship at ASU; they just wouldn’t be a part of the football team anymore.

Arizona

Mark Schlabach of ESPN reports that the Arizona Board of Regents will decide whether or not Sean Miller should forfeit $1 million if he’s charged with a crime or found guilty of violating NCAA rules in a vote this week.

USC

Lindsey Thiry of the Los Angeles Times writes that USC is focused on developing quarterbacks during the spring instead of having an all-out competition for the starting job. Sophomore Matt Fink and redshirt freshman Jack Sears are the two getting the most reps as the Trojans look for a replacement for Sam Darnold.

Oregon State

Former Oregon State wide receiver Brandin Cooks has been traded to the Los Angeles Rams by the New England Patriots for the No. 23 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft (ESPN). A couple of other later-round picks were also included on both sides.

California

Cal men’s basketball has hired Marty Wilson as an assistant coach, head coach Wyking Jones announced Tuesday afternoon. Wilson was most recently the head coach at Pepperdine, which is now led by former U-Dub head coach Lorenzo Romar.

Stanford

Stanford men’s volleyball freshman Jaylen Jasper was named AVCA National Player of the Week on Tuesday after averaging 5.11 kills, 0.89 aces and 6.22 points per set against wins over No. 13 Grand Canyon and No. 14 Concordia.

Utah

Utah baseball defeated BYU 4-3 Tuesday night, getting a three-run homer from Erick Migueles (Pac-12 Networks). The Utes are seemingly finding a groove, having come off a series victory over then-No. 1 Oregon State.

Colorado

Missed this from last week, but you should know that Colorado soccer’s Joss Orejel has been named to the Mexico Women’s National Team for friendlies against the United States on April 5 in Jacksonville and April 8 in Houston (BuffZone.com). This is her first call-up to the full national side.

Washington

The Seattle Times columnist Larry Stone says Washington quarterback Jake Browning is the most underappreciated player on the team by the fans.

Washington State

Avery Cooper of The Daily Evergreen features Washington State pole vaulter Molly Scharmann, who is hoping to pole vault 14 feet by the end of the season, a mark she believes would qualify her for NCAAs.
