Pac-12 announces Tennis Players of the Week

Pac-12 Men's Tennis Player of the Week: Maxime Cressy, Jr., UCLA (Hermosa Beach, Calif.)

• Maxime Cressy helped UCLA clinch the No. 1 seed in the 2018 Pac-12 Tournament and at least a share of the Pac-12 regular-season title last week. Cressy recorded a perfect week, going 4-0 in UCLA’s wins over No. 33 Arizona State (4-2) and Arizona (4-0) in the Bruins’ final road trip of the regular season.
• The junior picked up straight-set wins on the No. 5 court over Arizona State’s Andrea Bolla (6-1, 6-4) and Arizona’s Jonas Maier (6-4, 6-0) to improve to 27-6 overall record this year.
• Cressy and teammate Bryce Pereira collected wins at No. 3 doubles over ASU (6-2) and Arizona (6-3) to pace the Bruins with a team-high 15 doubles victories.  
• Receives back-to-back Pac-12 Tennis Player of the Week honors for his third nod this season and is only the fourth athlete to earn consecutive awards. Marks UCLA’s 39th all-time weekly award.

Pac-12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week: Alyssa Tobita, Sr., Oregon (Mililani, Hawaii)

• Tobita went undefeated during her senior weekend to help Oregon shut out Colorado (4-0) and Utah (4-0) before heading to the Pac-12 Tournament.  
• No. 42 ranked Tobita defeated Utah’s then-No. 121 Alexia Petrovic on the top court (7-5, 6-3) for her sixth win over a ranked opponent this season, improving her singles record to 14-6 this year.
• At No. 2 doubles, Tobita paired with Rifanty Kahfiani and only dropped one game over two matches in defeating Colorado (6-0) and Utah (6-1).
• Earns her second career Pac-12 Tennis Player of the Week honor and Oregon’s fifth all-time weekly award. Tobita collected the Conference honor on March 14, 2016 and is the only Duck to earn a weekly award since 2011.
