Roundup: Raise in the works for UW AD Jennifer Cohen

Adam Jude reports that Washington AD Jennifer Cohen will be getting a raise in the near future after having talked with UW President Ana Mari Cauce. Cohen “has the lowest annual guaranteed compensation relative to departmental expenses” for any Power Five AD, according to a study from AthleticDirectorU.com.

USC

USCTrojans.com tells us Kendall Ellis was named to the Bowerman Award mid-outdoor watch list on Wednesday. The senior is the school's outdoor record holder in the 400-meters and is coming off NCAA indoor title in that event with an American indoor record time of 50.34 seconds.

Utah

Former Utah center Emily Potter signed a training camp contract with the Seattle Storm, it was announced Wednesday. Training camp begins April 29 for the Storm.

Arizona State

Arizona State’s Roberta Liti was named the Pac-12 Women’s Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the conference announced Thursday. The Siena, Italy, native has a 4.0 GPA while pursuing a double major in Management and Business.

Stanford

Nice – Stanford men’s basketball will play in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas in November. Also in the field are Florida, Butler, Virginia, Dayton, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Middle Tennessee State. That’s a pretty stacked field right there.

Colorado

Colorado lacrosse’s Darby Kiernan was named IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week after going for 10 goals, two assists and 12 draw controls combined in wins over Stanford and Cal.

UCLA

Yahoo Sports NFL Draft analyst Greg Cosell believes that Josh Rosen is the “most refined” quarterback in this draft class. Does that mean “best”? Possibly, Cosell writes.

Oregon

Oregon State

Bob Lundeberg of the Corvallis Gazette-Times takes a look back at Oregon State baseball’s trip to Missouri State, which featured 17-6 and 10-2 wins in a two-game, rain-shortened series despite not being able to practice the day before. Arizona

Arizona softball swept a doubleheader with New Mexico State, defeating the Aggies 7-3 and 9-0 (Arizona Daily Star). The 13th-ranked Wildcats now gear up for a huge series at No. 8 Arizona State, having been swept in their last two weekend series against Oregon and UCLA.

California

Daniel Brown of the Bay Area News Group details how Klay Thompson’s thumb injury is actually paying dividends for the Golden State Warriors. Thompson, who broke the thumb on his right (shooting) hand in March, is on fire to start the playoffs, shooing 70 percent from the field and 71 percent from downtown in the first two games.
