Day 1 Recap

  • UCLA takes the first day lead at the Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championships with a 1-under 287, followed by Stanford with a 2-over 290.
  • UCLA’s Lilia Vu, Washington’s Sarah Rhee, and Stanford’s Emily Wang all fired 4-under 68’s to top the leaderboard. The Round 1 score of 68 shot by Vu, Rhee, and Wang tied the Broadmoor women’s competitive course record.
  • UCLA Head Coach Carrie Forsyth on her team’s play after Day 1: “We believe and know that all of our players are capable of those numbers, and it’s going to take five players to win this championship. It was a good start and I was pleased with what I saw, especially towards the end of the round.”
  • UCLA’s Lilia Vu Quote: “I didn’t want to put pressure on myself as the defending champion. I just want to do my best here and I really love the golf course. I just want to play golf and have fun.”
  • Of note, Stanford’s Emily Wang opened the day on the back nine by posting a 7-under 30, including two eagles and three birdies.
  • Monday play begins off both the 1st and 10th tees beginning at 9:30 a.m. and 9:40 a.m. respectively.
