OJAI, Calif. – No. 6 seed USC, No. 7 seed OREGON and No. 8 seed WASHINGTON all posted convincing opening-round victories on the first day of the 2018 Pac-12 Women’s Tennis Championship held at the Ojai Valley Athletic Club and Weil Tennis Academy on Wednesday.

The seventh-seeded Ducks swept No. 10 seed UTAH (10-14), while the Trojans and Huskies defeated No. 11 seed ARIZONA (9-16) and No. 9 seed COLORADO (9-12), respectively, by identical 4-1 finals.

Angela Kulikov proved critical in USC (13-9) advancing past Arizona as she teamed with Rianna Valdes to help clinch the double point, then fought off a first-set loss for a 2-1 victory at No. 3 singles to send the Trojans into the quarterfinals.

Oregon (15-8) recorded three wins in quick succession on Nos. 4, 5 and 6 court singles – Daniela Nasser, Julia Eshet and Paiton Wagner – to complete its shut out of Utah.
