California

Dude is certainly having an NBA Playoffs to remember – Jaylen Brown scored 23 points to lead the Boston Celtics to a 107-94 Game 2 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals. Brown and the C’s have a 2-0 lead over the Cavs.

Stanford

How about this for a feel-good story – former Stanford baseball player Stephen Piscotty homered in his first at-back back from the bereavement list following his mother’s death (Yahoo Sports/AOL). His Oakland A’s defeated the Boston Red Sox 5-3 Tuesday night.

Utah

According to ESPN 700’s Bill Riley (and liked here by FOX 13 Salt Lake City), Utah men’s basketball has agreed to a two-game series with Kentucky, playing the Wildcats at Rupp Arena in 2018-19 and in Las Vegas the following year at T-Mobile Arena.

USC

In other scheduling news, Joey Kaufman of the Orange County Register (linked here by LA Daily News) tells us that USC men’s basketball will play TCU at Staples Center on Dec. 7 as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Classic, which will also feature Arizona State-Nevada and New Mexico-Saint Mary’s.

Arizona

The Phoenix Suns won the NBA Draft Lottery Tuesday night, getting the first pick, and Bruce Pascoe writes that the Suns “don’t know yet” if they’ll take Deandre Ayton. Seems like the Suns will choose between Ayton and Slovenian sensation Luka Doncic. I’d personally go with Ayton, but it’s tough to overlook a 19-year-old who is averaging 16.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists against grown men in Euroleague competition.

Colorado

Pat Rooney writes that Colorado basketball alums are gearing up for another run in The Basketball Tournament, the ESPN-sponsored tourney that awards a $2 million winner-take-all prize. Team Colorado will begin pre-tourney workouts in June in Boulder, and it’s likely going to be the last TBT run for a good chunk of the players.

Washington

Adam Jude reports that Washington linebacker Camilo Eifler will transfer. Eifler, who announced his intentions to transfer on Twitter Tuesday, played in all 13 games for the Dawgs as a redshirt freshman in 2017, mainly appearing on special teams.

UCLA

This is a few days old by now, but check out Dennis Dodd’s feature on UCLA football coach Chip Kelly (CBS Sports).

Arizona State

Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports believes that Arizona State football has the toughest schedule in the Pac-12 for the 2018 season.

Oregon State

Oregon State baseball thrashed San Diego 19-6 on Tuesday, combining to score 42 runs in 14 innings against the Toreros in the two-game mid-week series (Pac-12 Networks highlights). The Beavs hit three homers in the second inning alone on Tuesday.

Washington State

Meanwhile, Washington State baseball lost to Gonzaga in 13 innings, and Roxy Bernstein recaps the tight contest for us.
